The Weight of Excess

Hey, I’m Syllie.

A dreamer, aesthetic lover, and baseline coffee dependent.

Meet my tiny companion, Mamoru (守る). Japanese for protector.

He doesn’t say much. He just shows up on the hard days and the good ones.

I thought happiness was hiding behind the next achievement.

The next level. The next better version of myself.

But in chasing who I thought I was supposed to be,

I lost sight of who I actually was.

I got caught up in expectations, comparison, and trying to be more.

When did I stop being me?

If you’ve ever felt like you’re carrying too much just to become someone you’re not,

I hear you.

This is my story.

But I have a feeling it’s yours, too.
